How to Change DNS Settings on Mac ?

To change the DNS setting in the macOS operating system;

1- First, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your Mac.

NOTE: The Apple icon is located on the Apple Menu, which is located horizontally at the top of your device.

2- From the Apple menu, click on the “System Preferences…” from the drop-down menu which will open next.

3- Then, click on the “Network” option from the “System Preferences” page.

4- From the left side of the network settings page, select the connection which you use(such as WiFi or Ethernet). In the first option, the network you are connected to will be selected automatically. After selecting your connection, click on the “Advanced” option in the lower right corner of the Network settings window.

5- Choose the DNS tab from the top of the screen. In order to add a new DNS server; select “DNS” from the top. Then click the “plus(+)” icon that is under the DNS Servers section.

6- Finally, enter the new DNS setting information to the DNS servers section and when you are finished, click the “OK” in the lower right corner of the window.

7- Click “Apply”. You can close out of settings as usual. You are ready to use your computer with new DNS settings.

NOTE: To delete an existing DNS server; Select a DNS server IP address and click ‘(-) Minus’ icon to remove a DNS server. 

NOTE: To edit an existing DNS server; Click twice on the DNS server IP address you want to change. 

That is all. You have changed your DNS settings.
